Bret Harte Student Wins Holiday Card Contest
Sacramento, CA, January 2023 - The Small School Districts’ Association (SSDA) is proud to announce that Bret Harte Union High School District student Polina Lushova has won the California Holiday Art Contest. Lushova’s artwork was selected from submissions throughout California and was featured on the annual SSDA holiday card, sent to districts all over the state.
"Students from small districts all around California are amazingly talented,” said Bret Harte Union Superintendent Scott Nanik. “Polina is a shining example of that, and we are proud she is a Bullfrog."
One of SSDA’s primary objectives is to highlight student art projects in California. As such, the Holiday Card Contest helps bring together students from across the state in a diverse way.
“Opportunities such as the SSDA Holiday Card Contest help uncover and discover the hidden talents enrolled in our schools,” shared J.J. Lewis, Superintendent & CEO for Compass Charter Schools, during the previous year’s contest.
