Rio Dell Elementary School District Student Wins 2023 SSDA Holiday Card Contest
Sacramento, CA, December 18, 2023 – The California Small School Districts’ Association (SSDA) proudly announces that a 7th-grade student at Rio Dell Elementary School District is the 2023 Holiday Card Contest winner. Her artwork was selected from over 100 submissions, and her work will be featured on the annual SSDA Holiday card sent to over 350 districts throughout California.
Angela Johnson, Rio Dell Elementary School District Superintendent, stated, "Rena is a very talented artist. I am extremely proud of her for being brave and confident to enter her art into the contest. Her inspiration for her art is uplifting and should remind everyone of the season's joy and the blessings of time to gather together."
"I just can't believe I won. When I think of the holidays, I feel like togetherness, joy, and kindness are the feelings I get. The tree and love is the center of it all,” said student Rena.
SSDA advocates for small rural schools throughout California. This contest brings students to the forefront, allowing them to display their talents and bring joy to themselves and others.
