08.10.10: SSDA Amendments Accepted

Senator Simitian and Senator Ashburn have accepted SSDA proposed amendments to their bills - SB 1381 (Simitian) and SB 623 (Ashburn) - that withdraw SSDA’s opposition to those bills.
The SB 1381 amendments remove the bill’s fiscal penalty from a loss of average daily attendance that would have occurred when the kindergarten entry age is changed for age 5 on or before December 2 to age 5 on or before September 1.
The SB 623 amendments narrow the bill’s effect and allow small districts access to bundled services for local school bonds.
