06.10.10: Some State Budget Relief

Today the State Controller released the May General Fund revenues report that showed improvement from the estimate. As predicted, the April revenue plunge was due to 2008 and 2009 economic activity while 2010 continues to be better than estimated.
The May report should give the Budget Conference Committee room to increase revenue estimates for 2010 and 2011 above the May Revision and greater than the Legislative Analyst who is $1.5 billion above the May Revision.
