SSDA Sponsored Bills:
Relates to the After School Education and Safety Program to serve pupils in kindergarten and grades 1 to 9 at participating public elementary, middle, junior high and charter schools. Establishes a minimum total direct grant amount for small schools.
Status: 05/27/2010 - In SENATE Committee on APPROPRIATIONS: Held in committee.
Prohibits a school district's apportionment deferral from exceeding the district's required reserve for economic uncertainties if the district meets specified criteria.
Status: 05/27/2010 - From SENATE Committee on APPROPRIATIONS: Do pass as amended.
Requires school facilities constructed or modernized using specified bond funds set aside for career technical education to be used for a minimum number of years. Requires a school district to provide certification regarding that use. Requires districts applying for a career technical education grant to include teachers and members of the local career technical education advisory committee in the design and planning process. Relates to the use of funds for equipment. Requires a review of bond fund use.
