01.04.10: SSDA Update
By David Walrath
The Governor’s budget will be released on January 8. The Assembly Education Committee will meet this week to hear Senate Bill 4 of the 5th Extraordinary Session which is the Senate/Administration’s proposal for the statutory changes they believe necessary for a successful state application to the federal government for Race To The Top funds. Discussions have been continuing, although there is no clear indication that a compromise has been reached between the Assembly and the Senate/Administration proposals.
SSDA will provide an update on the Assembly Education Committee actions after the hearing and will provide a brief update on January 8 regarding the Governor’s budget proposals.
