12.22.09: Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund

Does your district need to remove an underground storage tank? Are you aware of the School District Account in the Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Fund? (See Section 25299.50.2 of the Health and Safety Code).
Assembly Bill 1188 by Assembly Member Ruskin amended these provisions to ensure $10,000,000 will be annually deposited into the Fund in each of 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. SSDA encourages small school districts that have to remove underground storage tanks to review whether they can claim reimbursement from the Account.
