05.29.09: REAP Eligibility Spreadsheets Posted Online

The U.S. Department of Education has recently begun posting the eligibility spreadsheets for the Rural Education Achievement Program. Every eligible district within the Small and Rural Schools Achievement Program will be listed on the state-by-state websites. Please check your state’s spreadsheet to double check your district’s eligibility for REAP. If your district is highlighted in yellow, you must submit an application to receive REAP funds. Applications are due by June 30, 2009. You can apply online at grants.gov.
If your district is listed but not highlighted in yellow, this means you were eligible for REAP last year and are eligible again this year. Therefore, you will not be required to apply and will receive your REAP award by the end of September.
We want to make sure that all eligible districts take advantage of REAP funding. If you see a district highlighted in yellow that you know, be sure to reach out and let them know about the application deadline. REAP is an invaluable resource for rural school districts and we want to make sure that it benefits as many districts as possible.
