AASA Update: E-Rate Filing Window Open

It’s that time of the year again; time to start thinking about your
district’s E-Rate application. The Schools and Libraries Division
of the Universal Service Administrative Company has set the dates
for the upcoming E-Rate application period. The window opened on
Nov. 7, 2007, and will remain open until Feb. 7, 2008. This is the
11th funding year of the E-Rate, which goes from July 1, 2008,
through June 30, 2009.
During this open window period, school districts must submit your Form 471 with all of the proposed services and providers. These should be services already outlined in your school technology plan and could include Priority One (telecommunications and internet services) or Priority Two (internal connections) requests.
